Before you hit that upload button, there are a few common pitfalls that can turn your perfect vision into a disappointing result.<\/p><p>We see thousands of designs come through our studio every week, and while most are amazing, there are a few mistakes that happen time and time again. The good news? They are all completely avoidable once you know what to look out for!<\/p><p>Here is your complete guide to the biggest design mistakes and exactly how to fix them so your prints look professional, sharp, and high-quality every single time.<\/p><hr \/><h2>1\ufe0f\u20e3 The \"Invisible\" Print: White on White &amp; Colour Matching<\/h2><p><strong>The Mistake<\/strong>This is one of the most common errors we see. You create a design on a white background in Canva or Photoshop, and you upload it to print on a white T-shirt. You might think the white parts will disappear and show the shirt, but actually, the printer sees white as a colour and will print white ink onto white fabric.<\/p><p>The result? A raised, dull, or patchy print that looks messy and wastes ink. This also happens with black on black, navy on navy, or any colour trying to match the garment exactly.<\/p><p><strong>\u2705 How to Avoid It<\/strong><\/p><ul><li><p><strong>Use Transparency:<\/strong> Any area where you want the fabric colour to show through must be <strong>completely transparent<\/strong> in your file, not filled with white or matching colour.<\/p><\/li><li><p><strong>Export Correctly:<\/strong> Always save your file as a <strong>PNG<\/strong>. This format supports transparency. JPEGs do not and will force a white background on you.<\/p><\/li><li><p><strong>Use the Studio Tool:<\/strong> If you forget to do this, don't panic! It is fantastic for durability, but it struggles with very fine details. They can look grainy or patchy. <strong>Best Practice:<\/strong> Use solid blocks of colour that sit clearly next to each other.<\/p><\/li><li><p><strong>For DTG Products (T-Shirts):<\/strong> Gradients inside the design look amazing! However, be careful if your gradient fades out <em>to the edge<\/em> of the design.<\/p><ul><li><p><em>Why?<\/em> On coloured garments, we print a white underbase to make colours pop. This means if your design fades to transparent, it will actually fade to <strong>white<\/strong> instead of showing the shirt colour.
